My first two blog posts were written ten years ago. Really? And I was writing about yoga, because yoga was my focus. I was trying to see how I could make a business out of it. I never did. For me yoga remains a personal practice, elements of which I share with people from time to time when I teach classes. I share bits and pieces of what I have learned, but I cannot put together these bits and pieces into a shiny, high dollar package. I cannot put myself into that package either. Instead I have returned to an earlier dream, or dare I say, an earlier love—art. If that word brings up images of kid scissors and construction paper, I forgive you. Even for me the word is fraught with a myriad of connotations which pull is very different directions. So I am introducing it here with a very specific meaning and intention. I mean that I have devoted myself to making something that is beautiful and meaningful to me. And I make what I make with care. I am committed to building skills and creating something that stands on its own, where I constantly challenge my own seeing and ability to express what I see, feel, and know.
